Farmstand NYC: Union Square
The rain doesn't know it's market day: umbrella up, head down, I walk to Union Square and just as I step onto the square, spring appears...wild strawberries for dinner...
fresh asparagus for dessert...
and then?
Lavender and chamomile tea, made with fresh chamomile picked this morning, bought this morning...and a teaspoon of honey...not the pale viscous liquid harvested from rooftop hives in my neighborhood in Manhattan, but rather, the dark amber beauty that results from the nectar of Westchester wildflowers...The labels are printed by hand and...I believe everything they say.

Migration
Just received word that the new issue of Terrain.org: A Journal of the Built & Natural Environments is now live at http://www.terrain.org. It's beautiful. The theme is migration and it is filled with photos, essays, poems and meditations on birds, cougars, people, mountain lions, ghosts and deep maps. There is a nice interview of Rebecca Solnit in it, as well as a poem of mine, with audio. I don't have an iPad, but the issue looks like one that would be especially nice to read on an iPad.
